Effective October 22, 2026 · Umoja Soccer Club, Inc. · Clarkston, Georgia
Updated October 22, 2026: this version lists what each form on the site collects and names our website host. Nothing about how we use or share information has been loosened.
This policy covers umojasoka.com and email sent to an @umojasoka.com address. It does not cover PlayMetrics, US Club Soccer, SafeSport or any other service we link to; each of those has its own policy and its own relationship with you. Player registration, scholarship applications and program payments happen in PlayMetrics, not on this site.
The short version
- We collect only what you send us through a form on this site or by email. The site itself does not track you.
- There are no analytics and no advertising pixels anywhere on this site. The only third-party code we load is our donation provider, and only on the pages where you can give.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Ever, to anyone, for any purpose.
- You can ask us to delete anything you have sent, and we will.
What we collect
Only information you choose to send us. Every form asks for your name and a way to reach you (email, phone, or both). Beyond that, each form asks only for what it needs:
- Contact form. The subject you choose and your message.
- Community partnership inquiry. Your business or organization, the type of support and approximate level you have in mind, your areas of interest, what you hope to accomplish, and any notes.
- In-kind gift offer. Your organization, a description of the item or service, quantity, condition, your estimated value, when it is available, how it would be delivered, the item’s location if pickup is needed, any conditions you attach, and an optional photo or document.
- Volunteer interest. Your connection to Umoja, the roles you are interested in, your availability, languages, skills and experience, and whether you are willing to complete any required screening or training.
- Chaperone application. Whether you are 18 or older, your player’s name and team if you have one at Umoja, the trip or team you are interested in, your availability, experience, languages, and whether your SafeSport training and US Club Soccer background screening are current. The form asks only for that status; screening itself happens through US Club Soccer, not this site.
- Volunteer reimbursement. Your volunteer role, the expense date, amount, vendor, category and purpose, whether it was authorized in advance, and a link to the receipt.
- Gifts made online. The details you enter in the Givebutter giving form, such as your name, email, billing address and gift amount. Card details go to Givebutter, never to Umoja.
- Email. Whatever you choose to include when you write to an @umojasoka.com address.
We ask for what is needed to reply or make a decision and nothing beyond it.
This site does not track you. It runs no analytics and no advertising pixels, sets no cookies of its own, and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites. Like any website host, Netlify, which serves this site, processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and keep the site secure; Umoja does not use that information to identify visitors. Our donation provider, Givebutter, loads its own code on the pages where you can make a gift and may set cookies needed to process a donation; their handling of that information is covered by their own privacy policy.
How we use it
To reply to you, to process what you submitted, and to run the program you contacted us about. That includes reviewing volunteer and chaperone applications, reimbursing approved expenses, arranging and acknowledging gifts and community partnerships, and keeping the records our legal, tax and insurance obligations require. That is the whole list. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a form.
Who we share it with
Umoja does not sell, rent or trade personal information, and does not share it with anyone except in these situations:
- Our website host. Netlify serves this site and processes the basic technical information any website needs to deliver a page.
- Our form provider. Website form submissions are delivered to us through Formspree, which processes and transmits the message on our behalf. They act as a service provider, not as an independent user of your data.
- Payment processing. Online gifts are handled by Givebutter, our donation provider. Payment details go directly to them and Umoja never receives, handles or stores your card number. Givebutter shares with us what we need to acknowledge the gift.
- Club operations. Information relevant to a player’s participation, or to a volunteer or chaperone role, may be shared with the coaches and staff who need it, and with the sanctioning bodies a season requires, such as US Club Soccer.
- When the law requires it, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or another person. Child-safety obligations are not something we can contract out of, and we will follow them.
Children’s information
Umoja is a youth club, so much of what we hold concerns minors. We treat it accordingly.
- This site is not directed at children, and we do not ask children to submit information to us. Forms are intended for parents, guardians and adults acting on a player’s behalf.
- A player’s photograph, name or story appears publicly only where a parent or guardian has given permission for that specific use. Permission for a team photograph is not permission for a fundraising page.
- Public pages show first names only for minors, except where a family has specifically approved more.
- We never publish a minor’s home address, personal phone number, personal email address, household financial information, immigration information, medical information or private school records.
- There is no route on this site for a member of the public, a donor or a college coach to message a player directly. Recruiting and donor contact runs through the club.
- A parent or guardian may ask us at any time to see, correct or delete information about their child, or to withdraw permission for a photograph or story. We will act on that promptly.
How long we keep it
Inquiries and general correspondence are kept while they are useful and then deleted. Records tied to participation, safety, insurance, financial assistance or charitable giving are kept for as long as the club’s legal, tax and insurance obligations require, and no longer.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we limit access to submissions to the people who need it. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send medical records, financial documents or identification through a web form; if we need something like that, we will arrange a secure way to receive it.
Your choices
You can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Write to records@umojasoka.com and we will respond. There is no charge, and asking will not affect your player’s place in the club in any way.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site rather than made quietly.
